Russian Checkers 8×8
Move and Capture Rules:
- The game begins with White moving first
- Checkers are restricted to moving on dark squares
- Players must capture an opponent's checker if the opportunity exists
- Capturing is allowed in both forward and backward directions
- Kings can move and capture along any diagonal
- The Turkish strike rule applies, allowing only one capture per move
- When multiple capture options are available, players may choose any option
- A checker reaching the opponent's edge becomes a king and can immediately move as a king if possible
Draw Conditions:
- If a player with checkers and three or more kings faces a single opponent's king and fails to capture it within 15 moves after the balance of forces is set
- In king-only positions, if no capture or promotion occurs within 30 moves for 4-5 piece endings, or 60 moves for 6-7 piece endings
- If a player with three checkers (in any combination) cannot capture an opponent's king on the "high road" within five moves
- If only kings are moved without any simple checkers or captures for 15 moves
- If the same board position repeats three or more times with the same player to move
International Checkers 10×10
Move and Capture Rules:
- The game starts with White's move
- Checkers are limited to dark squares
