Allah says in the Quran:
**"And establish prayer for My remembrance." (20:14),**
**"Successful indeed are the believers, those who are humble in their prayers." (23:1-2),**
**"And establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the remembrance of Allah is greater." (29:45)**
From these verses, we understand that prayer helps us remember Allah, fosters humility, and keeps us away from immorality and wrongdoing. However, the reality is often different. While standing in prayer, our minds often wander to business, jobs, farming, family issues, and daily life concerns. How humble are we before the Almighty, the Most Honorable, the Most Dignified Allah? Millions of Muslims perform their five daily prayers, yet many engage in actions considered immoral and unjust in Islam (such as usury, lying, cursing, and backbiting) right after. Why does this happen?
It's because we don't know what we're reciting during prayer, in Quran recitation, in prostration, in bowing, and while sitting. In such a state, prayer becomes merely a ritual that we perform without understanding. **Is this the example of an educated nation?** It's crucial to understand what you're reciting in prayer today.
"Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to that of those who follow him, without their reward being diminished in any way." [Sahih Muslim: 2678]
