In the upcoming game Assassin's Creed Shadows, players will have the exciting opportunity to choose between two protagonists: Naoe, a skilled female shinobi, and Yasuke, a historical African samurai whose inclusion has already generated much discussion among fans. Some players have voiced concerns about potentially missing out on important content if they decide to focus on just one character.
Jonathan Dumont, the creative director behind Assassin's Creed Shadows, has taken the time to address these worries. Dumont, who enjoys a balanced approach to the game, shared his own experience:
"I tend to switch between characters fairly evenly. For example, I might spend 3-5 hours with one protagonist, then switch and play another 2-3 hours with the second."
However, Dumont reassures fans that choosing to focus on one character over the other won't lead to a significant loss of content. He explained that while each protagonist has their own unique opening sequences and personal story arcs, the game's design is flexible and adapts to the player's preferences. Dumont encouraged players to follow their instincts:
"I don’t believe you’ll miss out on a lot. It really comes down to your personal playstyle. You might think, 'Alright, I’ll see how the game adjusts based on which character I pick.' Each hero has their own unique introductions and dedicated questlines, but the core experience is flexible. You can choose your favorite, and the narrative will adapt accordingly."
This approach ensures that players can enjoy Assassin's Creed Shadows in a way that suits them best, without worrying about missing crucial parts of the story or gameplay. Whether you choose to delve deeply into Naoe's stealthy world or explore the powerful combat of Yasuke, the game promises a rich and adaptable experience tailored to your playstyle.
