Rebel Wolves, a studio established by former CD Projekt RED developers, recently hosted a captivating stream to unveil their debut project, *The Blood of Dawnwalker*. The event featured a four-minute cinematic trailer, marking the game's opening and setting the stage for its dark fantasy action RPG narrative.
Set in an alternate version of 14th-century Europe, *The Blood of Dawnwalker* follows the journey of Coen, a young man who acquires supernatural abilities following the events introduced in the trailer. His mission is to rescue his loved ones from the clutches of vampires, but he has only 30 days and nights to do so. Time in the game advances only during specific moments, requiring players to manage it meticulously.
Throughout his quest, Coen faces profound moral dilemmas: whether to hold onto his humanity or embrace his emerging vampiric nature. This choice significantly impacts both the gameplay and the unfolding story. A key mechanic, Blood Hunger, adds tension; if Coen delays feeding on blood, he risks losing control and harming crucial characters, resulting in unforeseen consequences.
Players are granted the freedom to explore richly detailed environments, with many elements influenced by the time of day. The developers have crafted an open world they describe as a "narrative sandbox," offering a plethora of opportunities for player-driven actions and decisions.
*The Blood of Dawnwalker* has been in development for two years, utilizing the power of Unreal Engine 5. The game is slated for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series, although an exact release date has yet to be announced.
