Marvel Studios has unveiled a new trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, featuring fresh footage.
The preview showcases The Thing sporting a rocky beard as the Human Torch carries him through the sky. We also see Mister Fantastic demonstrating his stretching abilities, the Invisible Woman utilizing more of her powers, and another brief glimpse of Galactus, though a full reveal of the character is still withheld.
Additionally, the trailer offers a more extensive look at the Silver Surfer than before, with her metallic voice announcing Galactus's arrival. A recurring joke throughout the preview involves The Thing refusing to deliver his iconic "It's clobberin' time!" line.
The appearance of The Thing's beard in the film, considering previous clean-shaven shots, suggests it grows during the third act. This raises several questions: Why wouldn't Ben Grimm shave? Over what timeline do the movie's events unfold? Is there a significant time jump? Can The Thing even shave, and if so, how? The rocky beard certainly sparks curiosity.
Fans have speculated that The Fantastic Four spans several months, noting Sue Storm's appearance both before and after the birth of Franklin Richards.
While the trailer includes plenty of new scenes, Marvel Studios is clearly holding back key details. Pedro Pascal's Reed Richards, complete with a mustache that has sparked online debate, is seen stretching his limbs during a platform leap and again when he appears to insert something into Galactus's leg. However, the full scope of his powers remains unseen.
Similarly, Galactus's face has yet to be shown in live-action, though we've seen the character through other means. The trailer does reveal his chest as he awakens and shows him striding through an alternate-history version of New York City.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is set to launch Phase Six of the MCU, integrating Marvel's first family with established heroes like Captain America, Thor, and the X-Men ahead of next year's Avengers: Doomsday. Earlier this month, director Matt Shakman addressed speculation about Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom appearing in the film, seemingly confirming the character's absence. However, Shakman's awkwardly worded response left some fans skeptical. What is clear is that the events of The Fantastic Four: First Steps will lead directly into Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled for release in December 2026.
