In Freedom Wars Remastered, each Abductor comes equipped with a health bar on its torso, which players can deplete using a variety of combat items and weapons. The game features different damage types, each with unique effects. While Light Melee weapons are typically used to sever specific parts of an Abductor's body, Impact Damage plays a crucial role in your overall combat strategy.
Mastering Impact Damage can significantly speed up the process of defeating Abductors. This guide delves into how Impact Damage functions and how you can leverage it to take down Abductors swiftly in Freedom Wars Remastered.
What Does Impact Damage Do In Freedom Wars Remastered?
Impact Damage is a key feature associated primarily with Heavy Melee and select Ranged Weapons. You'll often see a number displayed alongside the Impact Damage percentage, but this doesn't mean your total damage output is increasing. Instead, Impact Damage is a type of non-elemental damage that enhances the force of your normal attacks, which in turn increases the Abductor's stagger rate. Once the stagger meter reaches its limit, the Abductor will stagger and fall, or react in unique ways, giving you a window to deal substantial damage before it recovers.
The stagger meter, unlike the health bar, is not visible to players. This means an Abductor can stagger at any moment once the stagger threshold is met, which can be either beneficial or challenging depending on the context. In offline play, you can use this time to charge up and land a powerful strike. However, in online play, staggering an Abductor might complicate things for your teammates trying to land their attacks. Some Abductors, like Ramosa, react differently when staggered, such as moving backward, which can make precise targeting or hitting more difficult.
How To Increase Stagger Damage In Freedom Wars Remastered
To boost your Stagger Damage, you'll need to unlock the Weapon Development Facility. This facility is essential for crafting and customizing your gear, offering various options for weapon enhancements. Inside, utilize the Manufacture Modules feature to create a module using different resources. For crafting the Stagger Damage Up Module, you'll need Glassy Carbon, which you can gather as a field resource during several Basic Operations. After collecting the necessary materials, you can also use the Synthesise Modules option to combine multiple modules of the same type, enhancing their effectiveness. Once you've crafted the Stagger Damage Up Module, attach it to your weapon to enhance its Impact Damage, thereby improving your capability to stagger Abductors in combat.
Given that Impact Damage is non-elemental, prioritizing physical damage upgrades over elemental enhancements will maximize your efficiency in staggering enemies. This makes modules like Stagger Damage Up especially valuable for players wielding heavy melee weapons or certain ranged weapons that are naturally adept at building stagger.
