Rockstar Games confirms GTA 6's second trailer has shattered records as the most-viewed video premiere ever.
The studio revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that Trailer 2 amassed 475 million cross-platform views within 24 hours - surpassing all major film trailers including Deadpool & Wolverine's 365 million debut and The Fantastic Four: First Steps' 200 million. Last year's Superman trailer, which previously held Warner Bros.' record with 250 million views, is now overshadowed by GTA 6's latest reveal.
While the first GTA 6 trailer achieved 93 million YouTube views in its exclusive day-one release (setting a platform record for non-music content), the second trailer has currently reached 85,276,196 views on Rockstar's official YouTube channel as of May 8.
IGN previously reported how The Pointer Sisters' Hot Together experienced a 182,000% surge in Spotify streams mere hours after featuring in Trailer 2.
Spotify's Global Head of Editorial Sulinna Ong noted: "The Grand Theft Auto franchise has always shaped pop culture exceptionally. Since its inception, music has been integral to the series - witnessing both new and longtime fans rediscover this classic track is truly remarkable."
Following GTA 6's postponed launch from fall 2025 to May 2026, Trailer 2 arrived amid expectations of becoming the most profitable entertainment release across gaming and film industries.
