Pokémon GO's New Year's Celebration: Get Ready for Festive Fun!
Pokémon GO is celebrating the New Year with its annual festive event, running from December 30th, 2024 to January 1st, 2025. This exciting event offers themed bonuses, special Pokémon encounters, and plenty of ways to ring in the new year in style. Following the Community Day event (December 21st-22nd), trainers can jump right into the New Year festivities.
One of the event's highlights is the boosted XP—earn 2,025 XP for each Pokémon caught with an Excellent Throw! Enjoy festive fireworks and New Year's decorations enhancing the in-game experience.
Expect increased encounters with special, costumed Pokémon! Keep an eye out for Jigglypuff (with a ribbon), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (wearing a party hat), including their Shiny variants.
Raids are also getting a festive makeover. One-star raids feature a snowflake-hat-wearing Pikachu, while three-star raids bring party-hat-adorned Raticate and Wobbuffet. Shiny rates for all three are increased.
