Stellar Blade's recent update, incorporating a highly anticipated Photo Mode and NieR: Automata DLC, unfortunately introduced several game-breaking bugs. However, developer Shift Up is actively addressing these issues with an imminent hotfix.
Stellar Blade Update: Game-Breaking Bugs and the Hotfix
Hotfix in Development
Stellar Blade's Patch 1.009, while delivering the Photo Mode and NieR: Automata collaboration, also brought unexpected problems. Players report being softlocked during a specific main quest in an earlier dungeon, preventing further progress. Additional issues include game crashes when using the Photo Mode's selfie function and rendering problems with new cosmetic items on Eve.
Shift Up is diligently working on a hotfix to resolve these critical bugs. Players are advised to avoid forcing quest progression and await the patch. Attempts to circumvent the issue might lead to permanent softlocks, even after the hotfix is released.
NieR: Automata DLC and Photo Mode Enhancements
Patch 1.009 significantly expands Stellar Blade's content. The NieR: Automata collaboration, born from the mutual respect and creative synergy between Director Kim Hyung Tae and Director Yoko Taro, offers 11 exclusive items. Players can find Emil, the NieR character, within Stellar Blade's world to acquire these rewards.
The highly requested Photo Mode is finally here, allowing players to capture stunning images of Eve and her companions. New photo challenges further enhance this feature. Four new outfits for Eve and a new accessory (unlocked after a specific ending) modifying Tachy Mode are also included. Additional customization options, such as removing Eve's ponytail, have been added. Other improvements include lip-sync for six more languages, enhanced projectile auto-aim and bullet magnet functions for the instant death skill, and various smaller bug fixes.
