Welcome back to our ongoing series, "How is Ubisoft today?" Amidst the ongoing challenges faced by Ubisoft's upper management, there's a glimmer of good news on the horizon. The company has successfully addressed a frustrating issue that plagued several of its titles.
Ubisoft has resolved the compatibility issues that arose between several Assassin’s Creed games and the Windows 11 24H2 update. Since at least the fall of 2024, games like Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla had been malfunctioning on the new operating system. The solution came through newly released patches, which were announced on the Steam pages for both Origins and Valhalla.
The gaming community has responded positively to these updates. In the comments section under the patch notes, players expressed their relief and gratitude towards Ubisoft for fixing the long-standing issue. Notably, many users pointed out that the problem stemmed from Windows, not Ubisoft, which has led to a more forgiving attitude towards the developer. Despite the positive feedback, the recent reviews for both games still linger in the "Mixed" category.
Looking forward, there is optimism surrounding the upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Originally slated for an earlier launch, the game has been postponed to March 20. Ubisoft's decision to delay the release underscores their commitment to enhancing the game's quality, recognizing that the success of Assassin’s Creed Shadows could be pivotal for the company's future.
