KEMCO's latest tactical RPG, Eldgear, plunges players into the magical world of Argenia, a land emerging from a medieval past and hurtling towards a technologically advanced future. Hundreds of nations vie for power in this unexplored territory, their conflicts ignited by the discovery of ancient, immensely powerful machines. Following a devastating war, a fragile peace prevails, constantly threatened by the potential resurgence of conflict.
Eldgear's narrative centers on Eldia, a global task force responsible for safeguarding these potent ancient technologies and preventing another catastrophic war. Their mission: research, monitor, and control access to the ruins containing these powerful artifacts.
Combat in Eldgear utilizes a straightforward turn-based system offering strategic depth. However, the game's mechanics add layers of complexity. The EMA (Embedding Abilities) system allows players to equip three abilities per unit, usable at any time, offering tactical flexibility through stat boosts and abilities like Stealth. EXA (Expanding Abilities), activated by maximizing Tension during battles, unleashes devastating special moves. The enigmatic GEAR machines, ranging from protective guardians to hostile threats, further enhance the gameplay experience.
