Gaijin Entertainment has revealed exciting news: War Thunder's "Firebirds" update, featuring a host of new aircraft, arrives in early November. This major update boasts a significant addition of iconic military aviation assets.
New Aircraft Joining the War Thunder Fleet
Prepare for the arrival of the legendary American F-117 stealth attack aircraft, Russia's Su-34 fighter-bomber, and the powerful F-15E Strike Eagle, among others. The update also introduces new ground vehicles and warships, including the British FV107 Scimitar light tank and the French battleship Dunkerque.
Let's examine these additions individually. The F-117A Nighthawk marks War Thunder's first stealth aircraft. Its unique design and materials are engineered to evade radar and infrared detection.
Sharp angles and edges deflect radar waves, enhancing its cloaking capabilities. The aircraft incorporates radar-absorbing materials, ferromagnetic paint, and heavily shielded engines. Its real-world performance during Operation Desert Storm, completing over 1,200 combat sorties without a single loss, speaks volumes.
The F-15E Strike Eagle, on the other hand, emphasizes raw power. An enhanced version of the classic F-15 fighter, the F-15E boasts a 50% larger payload capacity and a ground target detection radar.
Its arsenal includes AGM-65 Maverick missiles, laser-guided bombs, JDAM navigation-guided bombs, and even GBU-39 satellite-guided bombs (20 at a time!). Its inclusion underscores its significance as a primary U.S. Air Force strike aircraft.
Expanding Beyond the Skies: Ground and Naval Additions
The "Firebirds" update extends beyond aircraft. Ground and naval forces are bolstered by additions such as the agile British FV107 Scimitar and the formidable French Dunkerque battleship.
Concurrently, the "Aces High" season is underway, offering unique vehicles to unlock, along with various trophies and rewards for Battle Pass and season completion. These include aircraft like the Bf 109 G-14, F2G-1, and La-11, powerful platoons such as the T54E2 and G6, and ships like the HMS Orion and USS Billfish.
Download War Thunder Mobile from the Google Play Store and experience these new aircraft upon their release.
