Navigating main quests under pressure can be daunting, especially when you're tasked with sneaking through unfamiliar territories within a tight time frame. In *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, the quest "For Whom the Bell Tolls" is a prime example of such a challenge. This guide will walk you through the steps needed to successfully complete this mission.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 For Whom the Bell Tolls Walkthrough
The quest "For Whom the Bell Tolls" kicks off immediately after finishing "Wedding Crashers." You find yourself imprisoned in Trosky, where your friend Hans faces execution once the bell tolls 12 times. Fortunately, Henry is granted a reprieve to work as a laborer around the castle, providing a slim window of opportunity to orchestrate Hans's rescue.
Hauling Sacks

Help the Blacksmith

Head through the archway opposite the blacksmith to reach the forge. Gather the necessary materials and craft the horseshoe, then return it to the blacksmith for approval. After this, follow the path you used for hauling sacks to the stables to deliver the horseshoe.
Help Fanka the Cook

Engage with the woman nearby, Fanka, the cook for the nobles. By offering your help, you gain access to the kitchen, normally off-limits. Follow Fanka to the kitchen; while lockpicking isn't mandatory, doing so boosts your reputation and secures a food source for future endeavors.
Speak with the Chamberlain
Screenshot by The EscapistUpon entering the kitchen, you'll notice the chamberlain in distress. Approach him and attempt to persuade him to allow you to brew a Digestive Potion. Success here grants you access to the surgeon's workshop; otherwise, you'll need to sneak in.
Make Fever Tonicum
Screenshot by The EscapistIf you couldn't convince the chamberlain, you'll need to use kitchen food to distract the guard and sneak into the workshop. If granted access, head to the non-noble's kitchen across from the forge, navigate past the guard (using food if necessary), and ascend to the surgeon's workshop. There, you can craft both the Fever Tonicum and the Digestive Potion using the ingredients found in the room's chest.
Cure Thomas
Screenshot by The EscapistShould you be helping the chamberlain, return to him with the Digestive Potion to secure permission to aid Thomas. If sneaking, prepare for an alternate route. Navigate back to the noble's kitchen, ascend the stairs to avoid additional guards, and remain crouched to stay undetected. Distract the guard at the staircase to Thomas's room with a pebble, then sneak past him. Once inside Thomas's room, deliver the Fever Tonicum to his sister, Adele, triggering the quest's concluding cutscene.
By following these steps and curing Thomas before the 12th bell tolls, you'll successfully complete "For Whom the Bell Tolls" in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2* and enhance your reputation. Even if you miss the deadline, the quest's outcome remains unchanged, but your timely intervention can make a significant difference.
