*League of Legends* has introduced an exciting new minigame in its client, available until the end of April. If you're familiar with *Balatro*, you'll find the gameplay of Demon’s Hand card game in *League of Legends* quite intuitive.
League of Legends Demon’s Hand Set-Up and Getting Started
To dive into Demon’s Hand, ensure your *League* client is updated to the latest version. Once updated, click the Play button, navigate to the game type menu, and select Demon’s Hand. This will kick off the introduction to the story woven into this game mode and lead you into your first round of the card game.

Your hand of cards appears at the bottom of the screen. In the bottom right corner, you'll see your health, coins, and percentage crit chance. Above this, the Sigil box is displayed. You can have up to six Sigils active at once, though you'll start with none. Keep in mind, your health doesn't automatically restore after each battle. To regain health, visit tent locations on the map, which will restore a percentage of your health.
The enemy is represented by the top card, with its health shown in the bottom right and damage in the bottom left. To the left of the enemy card, you'll find an attack coin indicating how many hands you can play before the enemy strikes back. On the far left edge of the screen, there's a book listing all the hands you can play as attacks and their standard base damage.
How To Play Demon’s Hand in League of Legends

To inflict damage, you'll need to play poker hands, each with a unique name in Demon’s Hand but following the same principles. The ultimate hand to aim for is The Demon’s Hand, equivalent to a royal flush. Here’s a breakdown of the hands you can play, along with their poker equivalents and base damage:
- Solo = High Card (10 Base Damage)
- Dyad = Pair (20 Base Damage)
- Dyad Set = Two Pair (40 Base Damage)
- Triad = Three of a Kind (80 Base Damage)
- Tetrad = Four of a Kind (100 Base Damage)
- March = Straight (125 Base Damage)
- Horde = Flush (175 Base Damage)
- Grand Warhost = Full House (400 Base Damage)
- Marching Horde = Straight Flush (600 Base Damage)
- The Demon’s Hand = Royal Flush (2000 Base Damage)
In addition to base damage, the numerical value of each card contributes to the total damage. However, if the enemy has a special ability that nullifies a specific suit, cards of that suit will be crossed out and their value won't count towards the damage.
Spice Up Your Attacks with Sigils
Sigils are another key element, purchasable during store phases indicated by coins on the map. You earn coins by defeating enemies, which you can then spend on Sigils. Each Sigil comes with a unique ability, visible when you hover over them in the store or during gameplay. Some Sigils enhance specific hands, like boosting the damage of Dyads, while others might grant you extra turns before the enemy attacks or reduce the damage you receive.
That covers the basics of playing the Demon’s Hand card game in *League of Legends*. If this minigame isn't your cup of tea, be sure to check out the upcoming April Fools skins for some fun on Summoner’s Rift.
