In a world brimming with video games, finding a truly unique experience can be challenging. My Father Lied, however, stands out with its compelling narrative and intriguing gameplay. This mystery/Lovecraftian puzzle adventure offers a captivating story that sets it apart from the crowd.
My Father Lied: An Indie Developer's Vision
The game's creation story is fascinating. Ahmed Alameen, the developer, initially pursued writing and filmmaking. A college collaboration idea sparked his interest in game development, but that initial team dissolved. Undeterred, Alameen embarked on a solo journey, teaching himself 3D modeling and Unreal Engine to realize his vision. Even the game's title resulted from a collaborative brainstorming session with his wife.
Unraveling the Mystery
My Father Lied plunges players into a captivating mystery steeped in ancient Mesopotamian myths. Players assume the role of Huda, a young woman grappling with a twenty-year-old question: What happened to her father? The answer, as the story unfolds, proves far from straightforward.
The game masterfully blends ancient Mesopotamian culture with modern storytelling. The intuitive point-and-click gameplay, coupled with stunning 2D visuals and 360-degree images, ensures an immersive experience.
