Navigating the expansive, synthwave-infused world of the Overgrowth in Hyper Light Breaker can be daunting, but fear not, as the game equips you with a powerful tool right from the start: the Hoverboard. This nifty device isn't just for show; it's your key to swift traversal across the vast landscape, acting as your primary sprint mechanic. This guide will walk you through summoning your Hoverboard and explore its versatile features that go beyond mere transportation.

How To Summon A Hoverboard In Hyper Light Breaker

To harness the speed of the Hoverboard in Hyper Light Breaker, all you need to do is hold down the Dodge input. Your character, the Breaker, will dash forward and seamlessly transition onto the Hoverboard, as long as you keep that Dodge button pressed.

Controlling the Hoverboard is straightforward. By tilting the left analog stick, you can lean and steer in your desired direction. The speed at which you're traveling affects your turning radius; at top speeds, turns are more gradual, while slower speeds offer greater maneuverability.

To dismount the Hoverboard, simply release the Dodge input. Additionally, if your Energy depletes while riding, the Hoverboard will automatically disappear. Keep an eye on your Energy gauge, displayed alongside your Breaker's companion, and take brief pauses to let it recharge if needed, preventing any untimely dismounts.

Hoverboard Movement Tips & Special Uses

While the Hoverboard doesn't support tricks or combat, it boasts unique attributes that enhance your exploration of the Overgrowth. A standout feature is its ability to float on water, allowing you to traverse rivers and inlets effortlessly. Remember, you must already be riding the Hoverboard when you enter the water; once on, it will keep you afloat and moving smoothly across the surface.

Another useful tip is to hold down the Jump input while on the Hoverboard to duck and prepare for a jump. Although you can't perform a double jump, the added speed can help you leap over wider gaps. Ducking won't boost your speed or jump height, but it can aid in timing your jumps more precisely, ensuring you make those critical crossings with ease.
