MachineGames, the studio behind Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, has confirmed a heartwarming policy: no canine casualties. This article delves into this decision and other game details.

While video games often feature violence against animals, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle breaks this trend.
"Indiana Jones is a dog person," stated MachineGames Creative Director Jens Andersson in an IGN interview. Despite the series' inherent action, the developers have ensured that Indy's encounters with dogs are non-lethal. This marks a significant departure from previous MachineGames titles like Wolfenstein, where animal combat was commonplace.
Andersson elaborated, "It’s a family-friendly IP in many ways. We have dogs as encounters, but you don't harm them. You scare them off."
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle launches December 9th on Xbox Series X|S and PC, with a PS5 release slated for Spring 2025. Set in 1937, between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, the game begins with Indy pursuing artifacts stolen from Marshall College. His quest takes him across diverse locations, from the Vatican and Egyptian pyramids to the submerged temples of Sukhothai.
Indy's whip serves both as a traversal tool and a weapon, allowing him to disarm and subdue human foes in open-world-inspired environments. Rest assured, dog lovers: Indy's whip will remain a threat only to human adversaries.
