REPO Development Updates
Overcharge System Revamp
After analyzing player feedback from their open beta, Semiwork is implementing significant adjustments to REPO's core mechanics. The much-discussed Overcharge feature, which lets players grab and throw enemies with strategic consequences, is undergoing a complete transformation.
This physics-based combat mechanic originally activated immediately, but will now unlock at level 10. The change comes as part of a broader vision to introduce fresh, progressively challenging mechanics at milestone levels (20, 30, etc.), with Overcharge serving as the initial hurdle.

The developers emphasize these systems will be deeply integrated into the game's narrative. "This isn't just gameplay for gameplay's sake," explained Semiwork. "There's meaningful context behind these mechanics that we'll reveal as development progresses."
Stealth Developer Playtesting

In an unusual move, Semiwork developers actively participated in anonymous matchmaking during the beta phase. Development lead Pontus Sundstrom described the experience: "We've been blending in with regular players, observing firsthand how people engage with our systems while discreetly gathering feedback."
Sundstrom expressed enthusiasm about the community response: "Seeing players organically discover and enjoy the new mechanics has been incredibly rewarding. Those spontaneous 'aha' moments are exactly what we're aiming for."
The team plans to incorporate player insights into future updates, with more announcements expected soon. For the latest REPO news and behind-the-scenes updates, check our coverage below.
