Remedy Entertainment has set its sights on advancing the gaming industry, drawing inspiration from the acclaimed work of Naughty Dog, particularly their Uncharted series. According to Kyle Rowley, the director of the Alan Wake 2 video game, Remedy aspires to be "the European counterpart of this iconic firm." This ambition was clearly reflected in the development of Quantum Break and subsequently Alan Wake 2.
In an insightful interview on the Behind The Voice podcast, Rowley elaborated on how Naughty Dog's influence shaped their creative process. "We should aspire to be the European version of Naughty Dog," he stated, highlighting their goal to emulate the cinematic excellence seen in Naughty Dog's titles.
This influence is unmistakably present in the cinematic style of Alan Wake 2, renowned for its stunning graphics and compelling narrative. The game's success has firmly established Remedy as one of Europe's premier studios. However, Remedy's ambitions extend beyond the realm of horror games. They aim to master the art of single-player cinematic experiences, much like Naughty Dog has done with Uncharted and The Last of Us, the latter being one of the most decorated franchises in gaming history.
Even over a year after its launch, Alan Wake 2 continues to receive regular updates to enhance gameplay across all platforms. These updates include several improvements, with a key focus on optimizing the game for the PS5 Pro. A new graphics option called "Balanced" has been introduced, which combines the PS5 Pro Performance mode with the PS5 Pro Quality mode for an optimal experience.
Additionally, minor adjustments have been made to the graphic settings of Alan Wake 2 to ensure a consistent framerate and a less noisy image. Alongside the PS5 Pro enhancements, this update also addresses a few minor bugs that affect gameplay, particularly in the Lake House expansion.
