In the upcoming Elden Ring: Nightreign, FromSoftware has made a significant change by removing the ability for players to "leave a message." This decision was explained by project director Junya Ishizaki in a recent interview. He stated that with each gaming session in Elden Ring: Nightreign lasting approximately forty minutes, there simply isn't enough time for players to engage in the message-based interaction that has been a hallmark of FromSoftware games.
"With sessions lasting roughly forty minutes, there isn't enough time to send your own messages or read other people's messages, therefore we disabled the messaging feature," Ishizaki explained. This choice might come as a surprise to fans, as message-based interaction has historically been a key component of FromSoftware's games, enhancing player enjoyment and interactivity. However, the development team concluded that this feature was not suitable for the new project.
Elden Ring: Nightreign is designed to be a standalone adventure, separate from the main Elden Ring narrative. While it will not directly tie into the original story, it aims to offer players a fresh experience with new challenges and encounters, all while preserving the atmospheric and intricate world-building that fans of Elden Ring have come to love.
