Krafton's latest release, inZOI, has shattered sales records by selling 1 million copies within just one week of its launch. This remarkable achievement marks the fastest sales milestone for any game published by the South Korean giant. inZOI, a life simulation game akin to The Sims, was released in Early Access on PC via Steam on March 28. It quickly made headlines, not just for its sales but due to a controversial feature where players could run over and kill children in-game. Krafton swiftly addressed this issue, labeling it an "unintended bug" and promptly patching it out.
Despite this initial hiccup, inZOI has garnered a 'very positive' user review rating on Steam. The game also saw a peak of 175,000 concurrent viewers on Twitch, securing the third spot in the Games category. Its popularity surged to the point where it topped Steam’s Global Top Sellers List, based on sales revenue, just 40 minutes after its release.
The in-game user-generated content platform, Canvas, associated with inZOI, has been a massive hit as well. On launch day, it attracted over 1.2 million participants and saw the upload of more than 470,000 pieces of content.
IGN's review of the Early Access version of inZOI rated it 6/10, noting, "inZOI is a visually striking life simulator with plenty of ambition, but not enough depth as of its Early Access launch."
Krafton credits its successful launch to its robust promotional efforts and continuous engagement with the community, which helped build trust and momentum. The company highlighted the inZOI global showcase and demo build as particularly effective in generating interest. CEO CH Kim expressed gratitude and excitement about presenting inZOI to a global audience, emphasizing the company's commitment to ongoing communication and development to establish inZOI as a long-term franchise IP.

Looking ahead, Krafton plans to introduce new content through updates, including mod support and new cities. All updates and DLC will be provided free of charge until the game's full release. In response to player feedback, Krafton has promised to implement quick fixes via hotfixes throughout April, acknowledging the scale of inZOI’s global community as a "next-level experience" while admitting to some trial and error in optimizing communication strategies.
