The Witcher 3, while critically acclaimed, wasn't without its flaws. Many fans felt the combat system fell short.
In a recent interview, The Witcher 4's game director, Sebastian Kalemba, acknowledged weaknesses in the previous game's gameplay. He specifically highlighted the need for significant improvements to both overall gameplay and the monster hunting experience. His exact words were: “We want to improve the gameplay and the monster hunting experience.”
Kalemba emphasized that the upcoming Witcher 4 trailer aims to showcase the enhanced power and impact of monster battles, focusing on improved choreography and emotional intensity.
Expect a substantial combat revamp in The Witcher 4. Reassuringly, CD Projekt Red recognizes the shortcomings of past Witcher games' combat and is actively addressing them. These improvements are likely to carry over into future installments, especially considering Ciri's role as the protagonist in the new trilogy.
Interestingly, the developers also plan to feature Triss's wedding. In Witcher 3, the "Ashen Marriage" quest was initially intended for Novigrad. The storyline depicts Triss's affection for Castello and her wish for a swift wedding. Geralt's role involved assisting with preparations, including monster extermination, procuring alcohol, and choosing a wedding gift.
