REPO's developers have unveiled exciting plans for the game, including a game-changing "duck bucket" designed to neutralize the terrifying duck that plagues players. Read on to discover more about their upcoming updates and the insightful feedback from the creator of Lethal Company.
REPO's First Update Details
The Duck Bucket: A Player's Best Friend

REPO's first update introduces a new map and the much-anticipated "duck bucket," offering a solution to the pesky duck problem. Semiwork Studios, in a March 15th YouTube video, detailed their future update plans.
REPO, a 6-player online co-op horror game, challenges teams to carefully extract items from a terrifying world. Players might find themselves stalked by The Apex Predator – a seemingly innocent yellow duck that transforms into a monstrous attacker upon being damaged or picked up. This terrifying transformation lasts 10 seconds before returning to its normal, deceptively cute form.
The "duck bucket" will provide a safe haven for this feathered menace, preventing it from pursuing players and avoiding accidental triggering of its monstrous form by teammates. This update also includes new facial expressions and other quality-of-life improvements.
A New Map: "The Museum" and Public Lobbies on the Horizon

Semiwork Studios also announced a new map, "The Museum," designed to test players' parkour skills. Extraction points will now feature clear visual boundaries, making it easier to determine if loot is within the extraction zone.
Responding to player feedback, the developers are exploring the implementation of public lobbies. They stated, "As an overwhelming majority seems fine with matchmaking where you can either host public or private, together with a kick button, that's what we'll be looking into. Adding a kick button might sound simple, but it involves server coding, a new area for us." While challenging, this feature is under consideration, though it may arrive later than other updates.
Lethal Company Creator Weighs In on REPO
Since its February release, REPO has drawn comparisons to the popular co-op horror game, Lethal Company, due to shared mechanics and themes. On March 15th, Lethal Company creator Zeekers offered constructive criticism via Twitter (X), highlighting areas for improvement in future updates.
Zeekers tweeted, "REPO is fun. At first I thought I didn't like it since I felt so slow (and voice chat range is too small!) But everyone in the group working together to move a grand piano through a cramped old mansion without scraping it--that is like the most funny objective for a horror game." He further elaborated in the comments, stating, "I'll probably post more thoughts on Patreon, but I think #1. Voice chat range needs increased, and the muffling is too much. #2. The levels with vast open space don't suit the game's design very well (similarly to Phasmophobia); it shines most in the cramped mansion layout."

Addressing concerns about silent enemy approaches, Zeekers commented, "Yeah, there also needs to be an in-game way to learn about how enemies work, but I'm sure they're planning that."
R.E.P.O., currently the second best-selling game on Steam (behind Counter-Strike 2), has achieved over 230,645 concurrent players, nearing Lethal Company's all-time peak of 240,817. For the latest REPO news, check out our related article!
